Hi there again, During the New Seeker/Peter Doyle era, I wrote to many other fans, if anyone remembers me and wants to get in touch would love to hear from you, I lived in Suffolk, indeed still do. Margaret Hughan and I used to write, and I recall some other names from that time so if you read this and would like to get in touch, I would so love to hear from you.My surname was Spooner then. Kind regards to you all. Julie.

Just found this site, how wonderful. Massive fan of Peters, spoke to him once on the phone told him he was the backbone of the new seekers, he was very lovely to me, I thought I was in love with him then, 1974. I also wrote to him but his mate 'Kerry' used to reply Peter was on tour. Never met Kerry, if indeed that was his name but he said he was touring with a band called 'Mothers pride'. I am so saddened about Peters death. I recall him singing 'Jungle ted and the lacey button poppers' even recorded it off the radio, ahh that was real commitment. Met him twice while touring in Suffolk, I was a mega fan...Now I have found this site it will be put in my 'favourites' thanks so much...those memories have flooded back and I am 14 again........ahhhhh.

Just reading through the lovely comments about Peter. I too used to keep his photos from the 'Jackie'. I only saw the New Seekers live once at a Fan Club event in London. It was supposed to be at the Hammersmith Palais but so many turned up that the overspill were taken to the Odeon, where we saw the film of Oliver I think before the band came over to see us. Still remember it nearly 30 years on!!!

Great website - I admired Peter's talent and the great voice he had. A great loss to the music world. Always pleased to read about the New Seekers.

In the early 70s I was New Seekers fan and so in love with Peter. Searching for some informations about him I found this Website. I feel very, very sad about Peter's death but it comforts me a little bit that -back in Australia- Peter had a fulfilled life together with his wife Jane. I'll never forget Peter and never forget his music! Thank you, Gwyneth, for this wonderful Website! Margret (from Münster/Germany)

Just came across this wonderful website - praise to all involved. Peter Doyle's music is so varied and beautiful and it still sounds so fresh and just as poinient today. Unwithered Rose was always my favourite, but the vocal on Reap What You So is staggering. He and Marty appeared to swap songs at the end of the Circles album and I'm so glad they did. I can't wait to get a hold of 'Rarities'. luv BJ
