I have just discovered that you can watch the actual footage of the Eurovision entry Beg, Steal or Borrow (on YouTube). I wasn't allowed to stay up and watch it but listened to it on the radio. If you're really masochistic, you can also see Vicky Leandros (GRRRR) I still haven't recovered from that injustice!!

i had been downloading favourite oldies off limewire and always wondered what happened to Peter Doyle, who in my mind, carried the songs for the new seekers, with or without the girls (sorry Lynn and eve) he had a tremendous range to his voice, harmonised and sang so many lines that possibly the person who knew nothing about musician ship missed.
i accessed the web site to see what he and his terrific voice was doing now, and was deeply saddened to see he passed away some years ago. if my calculations are correct he must have only been about age 50.
all i can say is my goodness, what a voice.
god bless, keep on singing in heaven, because your range was angelic.
best regards

Hi was delighted to see Sue Flemmings name on this site, Yes Sue indeed I do recall us writing to each other during those care-free New Seekers days. How we loved the band and especially Peter. Yea we used to sing those New Seekers songs to each other on those c-60 cassettes, how funny that would seem by todays standards, but boy! what fun we had.

As a Kid I was a neighbour of Peter's at Thomastown and remember him well as the only signature my brother and I had in our autograph book was that of Peter Doyle

Hi my name is Rob, im from the band itchy fingers .I am pleased to see the picture of us playing with Peter,I would love to get a copy of it for my wall of rockers... It brings back great memories....It was 10 years ago in Bendigo i believe and on that particular night we were ment to be performing with Colin Cooke or Malcolm Arthur (i cant quite remember which one) .But whoever it was couldn't make it and it was about an hour before start time everyone was stressing .So Peter was called in to save the day .A quick 5 minute rehearsal and then straight out on stage .Man did he ROCK the joint ,it was awesome ,truly one of the best sets we have ever done he was such a professional and a top bloke .We are honoured to be a small part of his memory ...yours sincerly... I have always wondered what Peter did after the New Seekers because he was always my favourite member and I remember I was gutted when he left the group. So my joy at finding this web site was marred by my discovering that Peter tragically died in 2001 - I had no idea. It has been so interesting reading about everything that he did after the New Seekers though. I have read all the messages in the Guest Book and would like to say hello to Julie Fance (Spooner) who was one of my many 'New Seekers Pen Pals' back in the 70s. I remember her writing to me and sending me tapes of her singing New Seekers songs and always remember that, like me, her favourite member was Peter! I don't know if you remember me Julie - I was Sue Fleming then. Thank you for a lovely website which is a wonderful tribute to Peter.

Peter had a voice that suited all the songs he sang and each time we play one of those songs, he will be with us once again. So as long as we continue to play his songs, Peter will always be with us. Love and miss you Peter.
