On the 24th April
1972, shortly after their success in the Eurovision
Song Contest, the New Seekers: Peter Doyle,
Eve Graham, Marty Kristian,
Paul Layton and Lyn Paul appeared
at the Royal Albert Hall in London. The concert was recorded
for both an LP release and a TV show for the BBC. The
group performed a wide selection from their diverse repertoire,
including comedy sketches and as was usual at this time, provided
their own musical backing, mostly from the guitars of Peter,
Paul and Marty. The TV show aired with just 13 of the
numbers from the concert but a great deal more was included
on the double album The New Seekers
Live at The Royal Albert Hall though a single album,
The History of the New Seekers,
was released in the US and The
New Seekers on Tour in South Africa.
In
the 1990's the TV show was released on to video and has more
recently as a DVD - see the DVD
& Video page.
